DOLCE & GABBANA – Do it like a God – ”Γίνε Θεός” Με Στυλ

Amphoraes, Hellenic Vases, Hellenic Alphabet and a lot of astonishing fabrics composed the latest fashion event that “Dolce & Gabbana” organized. Models dressed like Gods appeared on the catwalk having an immovable attitude full of self-confidence. All costumes were inspired from Ancient Greek civilization and were presented to scenery also was inspired from the same era.

This brand has a great company history. In 1988, they launched a leopard line, and in 1989 they began designing underwear and swimming costumes. Dolce & Gabbana started to export their products to Japan and other countries including the United States, where they founded their own showroom in 1990. In 1992, the same year they presented their men’s collection, they also launched their first perfume Dolce & Gabbana. A lot of innovations have been released until this latest fashion collection. Art, history and fashion have all met together and the result was amazing.

Leaving very little to the imagination, these startling pieces of “swimwear” are effectively made up of a strip of tape covering the nipple and crotch area. Feature during New York fashion week last year, the trend involves sticking tape to your skin where a bikini might usually fit. A reader has pointed out that the tape bikini has roots in the favelas of Rio, Brazil, where women began to use it to perfect tanning lines (it features in this 2017 clip of Anitta song Vai Malandra).

Totally disgusting if you imagine most women that don’t fit in small size can also use it. What about fashion in general? Those tape bikinis have nothing to show apart from nudeness. Also the tape is not practical for the beach, with wind, water, sand and inquiring seagulls being major impediments to the glue. Do you still need extra reasons for not to try it?

MODA DYNASTIE Magazine: «GLAMING chat» about «Cannes Film Festival»

by Vassilios Vitsilogiannis & Despina Dimotsi

Cannes Film Festival

Vassilios: This years’ Cannes Film Festival was fabulous. Always. As it often does, Cannes serves up many films, as we’ll be talking about them for the rest of the year.

Despina: Definitely. Those films which participated in this unique event stay on the top for the whole year. I heard that about 15 movies were magnificent and worth to be seeing.

Vassilios: You’re absolutely right. Many of those films depict today’s social problems that we all must take into consideration.

Despina: According to you, which films do you think made it up-the extra step? Which of those films are alternative and innovating?

Vassilios: All these films that their main theme is society were successful but I really loved «Atlantics» and Mati Diop who is the first black woman in Cannes history to have a film in the festival’s main competition and tells the story of Ada (Mame Bineta Sane) a Senegalese girl living in poor village that’s been exploited by a wealthy developer.

Despina: A really good movie, I read good critics about it.

Vassilios: Also, «The Climb» which talks about friendship was one of the top. For you that you are a literature lover I suggest «Les Miserables».

Despina: Definitely one of my favorite 2019 films. French literature and a leading director can do miracles in a film.

Vassilios: It shows what’s happening in a neighborhood in Paris and how violence is inevitable when police shows brutality.

Despina: Also good critics!

Vassilios: I think Cannes means Film Quality, so I want to congratulate all these participants at the Festival.

Despina: I totally agree. I love Cannes as I love Films!
